Her car was pointed east. Just one more stop. Nothing left for her in L.A. No family, no friends, no job. That life wasn’t so great. Everything would be different this time.
She checked the documents. Everything was there. She handed over a good chunk of her savings. Ex-cop turned to criminal. Buying a new identity on the black market. A chance to start over.
Taking the 40, it isn’t until she gets to Holbrook that she sees her new name, new credentials.

She can’t escape the monsters. No matter how she tries.
