I guess enough people know about this for me to make a public post about it. I don’t usually do this kind of thing, as you all know. My private life stays private. For the most part but I made a mistake the last time this happened and I’m trying to avoid it this time.

I’m going in for abdominal surgery on July 29th. I’ll be under for about 3 hours and staying overnight in the hospital. I’m staying in Phx until Sunday so I don’t have to travel up the mountain while I’m still recovering. No worries, my mom and my husband will be with me. We leave Thursday evening since my surgery is early Friday morning.

Two years ago I had abdominal surgery similar to this laproscopically. The doctor fucked it up and ended up cutting into me several times after he went through my belly button. He didn’t do what he was supposed to, didn’t tell me about several incisions. I went septic and ended up in the hospital. People were freaking because I wasn’t online so I don’t want anyone to get worried if I disappear for a few weeks due to my recovery. Because of my previous addiction(s), I don’t do heavy painkillers so recovery can be very tough for me.

This surgery is being done with the DaVinci procedure, that uses little robots (we call them robits around here) to go in. It’s less invasive and supposed to have a quicker recovery time. I’ll have five new lovely scars to add to the five I already had from before.

IF something happens to me (which I don’t anticipate but I had a not so hot reaction to anesthesia last time) my husband has my passwords, access to my emails, my cellphone etc. He knows to contact people and I figure the magic of the internet can spread the information. If shit happens, just remember to keep my spirit alive by spreading the C/A love. LOL

No, but seriously, I love you all. I love how concerned you are for someone you have never met (if last time is any indication). I wish I could meet you all in person and give you a huge hug. If this is the last thing I say to everyone, it’s that I love you. :)

You're a darling and I'll pray for you. My one bit of unsolicited advice as your friendly neighborhood nurse is to ask your doctor for a scopolamine patch 24 hours before surgery to help fight against nausea from the anesthesia.
