30 Days of TV Meme - Day 25
This is the easiest day yet! Cause I already know the two.

Battlestar Galactica and Mad Men
You're probably wondering why I didn't watch them/aren't watching them. Lots of factors but honestly, I wasn't interested in either one at first. I'm actually really picky with television shows (they get three episodes and after that, if they don't capture me, off they go). And I usually end up watching shows after they have started to air and someone recommends them to me (Like Supernatural, The Vampire Diaries, Dexter, Legend of the Seeker). I much prefer to get the DVDs and just mainline a season over a weekend. I can sit there, knit, watch the shows, no worries for commericals. It is how I roll.
With BSG and Mad Men, it's more a problem now of getting the DVDs. I don't have a Ballbuster or Hollyweird here. I live in a rural community so Netflix is iffy because postal delivery is iffy. So where do I go? Library, bitches! HELLS YEAH! I have all of BSG now and was planning to start watching it until RL kicked my butt. Mad Men has been next to impossible to get, even with interlibrary loan. (Damn Sedona Library only sends ONE disc and you can only keep it for a week! And it's never the right disc. It's always disc three of season one when you put ALL of season one on hold!)
Plus the fact that my husband got Leverage and Burn Notice S1 for his birthday and was like Kelly! We have to watch these together! (Even though I had seen both. I couldn't say no to him. He has puppy dog brown eyes, people!)

Good thing with SFU, Dexter, Sopranos is that the seasons are short. They go quickly.
no subject
Yeah, I was doing an Angel rewatch too, but I stopped prior to "The Thin Dead Line" because it's so hard to watch.
Definitely! I'm so gonna watch them, starting with SFU, after I finish Roswell and AtS S5. Eek!

And fuck you very much writers for what you did to Alex!!!! I was SO pissed about that for like MONTHS! MONTHS!!!! And then was even MORE pissed off for what happened in Season 3 with Izzy...yeah I did a lot of yelling at my tv back then.
Joan of Arcadia was Sooo amazing too! I wish they hadn't canceled it, or at least given us a better series finale.
no subject
Ok, I don't know/remember what you're talking about. I watched these shows a long time ago, so it's almost like I'm watching it for the first time, which rocks! But, I'm sure I'll probably feel the same way. *sigh*
IKR! I hated that they cancelled it! It was such an amazing show.

Evil TV Networks ALWAYS cancel my favorite shows just as they are getting good...It's like a conspiracy. But not gonna lie, I was totally hating Adam by the end of season two. He was kind of a dick to Joan.
no subject
IKR! IMO TV networks have no idea what good shows or are what appeals to people. I mean, seriously, they suck at picking shows. All the good ones always get cancelled. As for Adam, I have a love/hate relationship with him. I like in general most of the time, but sometimes I just don't. I'm more of a Grace/Luke lover so yeah.
no subject
Max and Liz were just...ugh. Just UGH!!! Which is just hilarious to me because Michael and Maria had like WAY more issues but their relationship seemed so much more natural than Max and Liz's. And awww Izzy/Alex my little Stargazers you were so beautiful. DAMN YOU UPN AND YOUR FUCKING UP OF SHIT!!!! ...Oh cause I'm so not bitter. Though season two for all it's...stuff did give me what probably amounts to my favorite episode all things considered.
Grace/Luke was just d'awwww. *Irony Grace was just on Mad Man and I was all, Why is Grace in bed with Don? This isn't right.* Though Luke was a bit of a boob, it made him all the more endearing. I loved the episode when Joan kept kicking his ass at Rock Paper Scissors and all of his logic and math and stats couldn't explain why she kept winning. *Though I was like TOTALLY sad after her whole like I RED BOOKS! GAME THEORY! YOU'RE PWNED BITCH!!! speech she lost*
Ok and not that I've watched Twilight but i caught it on like HBO or something the other day while I was flipping channels and WTF Luke looked older in Joan of Arcadia than he does in Twilight it's older!!! UNIVERSE ESPLAIN THIS TO ME!!!!
no subject
IKR! Whenever I watch a Max/Liz scene, I make the vomiting sign. LOL I'm so bad, but they just grate on my nerves. At least it's sort of not been at the forefront while I've been watching (I'm in the middle of S2. I just had a little Roswell marathon today, and probably will tomorrow too. Yay!) But yeah, Max/Liz gross me out and Michael/Maria are exactly what you said: so natural and organic and just beautiful. I love them to bits. &hearts
What is your favorite episode of S2? Like I said, I'm about half way through the season, but I've really loved it. I think it's been so great so far. Every episode has me wanting more. I LOVED "Surprise" and "Summer of '47!" So good!
LOL I didn't know the chick who played Grace was on Mad Men. Dude, I love them, and her, sfm! They are adorkable. &hearts&hearts And dude, I totes forgot that Luke was in Twilight! :O I just remembered while I was reading your post, and you're so right about him looking older in JoA. LULZ! I'm not so much into Twilight, but I've read all the books and seen all the movies cuz my friend LOVES it. Eep!

Michael and Maria, they at least compliment each other, and the attraction makes sense...it grows the way a NORMAL relationship does, not *BOOM* Instant NOM!Face like with Liz and Max.
"Summer of '47" is my all time favorite! *But I might be a little biased considering I have a fairly
unhealthy obsession with the 40's, WWII and such. Considering my main complaint about the episode was, "THOSE ARE NOT ACCURATE UNIFORMS!!! YOUR COSTUME DESIGNER FAILS!!!!" I think it's fairly save to say I need a little help* And I since I totally had a thing for Michael (and STILL kind of love that actor. He's Jared FRAKING Booth on BONES for Pete's sake, he's kinda awesome.)I loved having a episode about him. (Though I will always and forever love the scene in Season 1 when he's standing outside Maria's in the rain and then when she lets him in and ...*wibbles*)I liked Twilight back when NO ONE knew about it and it was just a cheesy young adult book about a girl who falls in love with a vampire...and then shit got progressively more weird and messed up as the books continued. And then all of the sudden all these completely BATSHITE fans came out of no where and started taking it WAY too seriously. Which you know I could have dealt with most of that, but then on top of that SMeyer totally jumped teh shark with the last book and completely recanted almost all previously established "rules" of her vampire world. See I have HUGE issues with authors who don't at least abide by the rules THEY set down. Most at least have the decency to be oh yeah, I broke that rule, I lied. SMeyer maintains that it's the "fans" who misinterpreted her words. I have no respect for someone who doesn't respect thier fans.
But yes Luke/Grace are adorkable and I love them to DEATH!

I'm sorry for the rant. I just finished ranting about this on my tumblr. It's just...I'm in complete shock here. Like, OF COURSE you had to make Tess the bad guy because this is the Max/Liz show and let's just hate on the character that comes in to break them up and blah blah blah.
UGHHHHH!!!!A;DLKFJA;DSLKFJADLJDSFL;KAKDLFS
Alright, I'm sorry again. I'm raging here.
I also don't get what Liz sees in Max, or even what Max sees in Liz. I absolutely hate the idea that once Max saved her they were the love of each other's lives. OH and omg that episode where future!Max comes and she quotes Romeo & Juliet to Max is the most hilarious thing. That's the one play EVERYONE quotes. Ugh. But, yeah. I don't understand the beginnings of the ship. Like...no. Does not compute.
OMG Michael/Maria ARE LOVE! I love so much of that the S2 finale chooses to be in terms of them! Like seriously Michael came back FOR HER! Dude, he found his home in her! *angel's singing* BEST THING EVER! I love them so much and they just work so perfectly. I mean they have issues, but they work at them and they complement each other so perfectly and they get each other.
Awww, I'm a little obsessed with WWII, not as much as you cuz I didn't notice the uniform fail, but I do love that part of history. It's just so interesting! Plus, Michael is pretty much my fav character and I'm ridiculously in love with the actor who plays him. OH and is Jared the one who drinks? On Bones I mean. Cuz if he is, then OMG I fail so much cuz I didn't recognize him! But back to it, yes, 'Summer of '47' is made of so much win. I love the story and I love all the Michael. Just perfect. Oh oh oh and that scene you're talking about, where he's in the rain and comes to Maria's house, is just so perfect and so them and so goddamn beautiful. &hearts&hearts&hearts I love it so much.
See, I liked Twilight too as this guilty pleasure kind of thing. I read the first 3 before the last one came out and you know it was fun, but that last one ruined everything and the fans are seriously insane. Plus, SMeyer is absolutely nuts. Seriously.
Now this is seriously long and there's all kinds of feelings going on here, so I'll just leave it at all. LOL.

I did see though that BSG still doesn't stream, unfortunately, otherwise you could subscribe to Netflix just to watch online...that's awesome your library has it though! Our library doesn't have anything like that...I also want to watch BSG at some point (so many friends keep pushing me and saying it's amazing), but gah, when?

I absolutely love this show to DEATH! It is amazing, and uh, just omg they DO things that you just sit there and go...did they JUST do that, CAN they do that...OMG THEY DID DO THAT!!!!
I need to watch BSG too...along with a VERY VERY long list of other things that there are legitimately not enough hours in the day to accomplish. and then it doesn't help when border finally has Season Two of Blood Ties so I can FINALLY finish my re-watch...Sigh. DAMN YOU TV AND YOUR AWESOMENESS!!!!
